Favorite: Mexican Food
So I love Mexican food! I can eat it for days in a row. We have an awesome local place that we go to for the best Fajitas and Chimichangas (well anything on the menu there is amazing). Recently I have been trying to cook more. Cooking can be lots of fun and creative. If there was a show on Food Network about me it would be called "The Messy Chef" ha! Trying new recipes can be fun and if it fails I can always call LaRosa's. When making Ben's family recipe for enchiladas I thought about how we make it from scratch and we don't buy a seasoning packet. Since we wanted to make tacos, I decided there had to be an easy and cheap way to make our own seasoning for tacos and there is! All Recipes.com is great for finding new ideas when your taste buds need something new. So there are quite a few recipes for taco seasoning. Below is taken from a popular recipe and changed up just a bit. Enjoy. (Many of these same seasonings are used for making enchiladas too.) This is a great way to save a little bit since the cost of the packets can really add up.
Taco Seasoning
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt and pepper. Store in an airtight container. Add to meat after browning and draining the fat. Add 1/2 cup of water and let it simmer down.

Cute Tuesday: My Cats

My cats are too cute. I love how they are curious about what is going on outside as soon as you open the curtain.

Welcome Beth and Adam
I want to welcome our newest couple, Beth and Adam. It is such an honor that Beth picked us. Her sister Ashley is getting married in April - so we are going to have a great time this year with her family! They are joining our 2009 weddings. I am so excited to photograph them this October.
We photograph a limited number of weddings each year. Want to find out if we have your date available? Just email or give us a call.
