Congratulations Nami and Robert

Saturday I had a wonderful time photographing Nami and Robert at Lake Lyndsay Lodge. Ian Lozada is a wonderful photographer from Lexington and he invited me to join him as a second shooter. Ian and I became fast friends these past couple of weeks and it was great to see him work. Second shooting is a lot of fun because it gives me the chance to take a step back and really view what is going on as an outsider since the wedding day was the first time I met the couple. The couple and their family and friends were so wonderful to work with and so festive. It's a good thing they had a large dance floor because it was full! There are so many great memories I have from their day. Like watching Nami hug her mother and father after the first ceremony. And anytime we asked the couple to kiss or embrace - you could just see how in to each other they are. Congratulations Nami and Robert - thank you for letting me help photograph your day! PS: also check out Ian's blog to see his great photos.

Mother's Day Winner, Congratulations to Bonnie!

Congratulations to Bonnie our Mother's Day contest winner! She has won one portrait session with prints. Her daughter sent a wonderful email to nominate her. Of course I would have given her the award just for having three kids getting married in one year! Below is Ashley's beautiful email!

How do you put into words the person who throughout my lifetime has been mom, teacher, coach, disciplinarian, best friend, worst enemy, provider of comfort and advice, and most recently wedding planner extraordinaire? My mom is a successful wife and mother, always willing to put herself second for the best interest of her family. She taught her children to be good people, devoted to family; she held our hands and wiped our tears through break-ups, hardships, and cross-country moves. Despite her desire to keep her "babies" close at hand, she made the ultimate sacrifice, and stood firmly behind me as I packed my bags and moved to Boston . My mom is the person I admire most in this world, and while her family and friends know how beautiful she is inside, I would love to give her the opportunity to show off her beauty on the outside too. - Ashley

Congratulations Gretchen and Adam

Gretchen and Adam are such a fun couple and I couldn't wait for their wedding day. Saturday the weather couldn't be more perfect. We started with the girls getting ready at the church. Nicole Barth, a Mary Kay consultant, did a wonderful job with their makeup. After Gretchen put on her beautiful dress we headed over to Boone County Arboretum at Central Park where she saw Adam for the first time. After a few photos of the couple and some caterpillars trying to get in on the fun- Adam pulled out a surprise. He bought Gretchen a stunning bracelet. How sneaky is he to pull that off, I loved seeing his beautiful surprise to Gretchen. During the ceremony Ben was allowed to be in the back area of the church (hidden behind a doorway). I love how you can see the couple's faces up close and how happy they are.
When we arrived at their reception we saw their awesome engagement signing book and their beautiful green cake. Gretchen made the fun cake topper with stars on sticks that she found at Pier 1 and then she added the matching beads. And the groom's cake was a fun treasure chest. Their family and friends were a blast and were so helpful. And boy can they all dance! Congratulations Gretchen and Adam - have a wonderful honeymoon and thanks for being so much fun!

For some reason the catepillars just loved us all. One fell from the tree above me when I was taking a photo and we had to keep removing some of them for photos.

Surprise! What a thoughtful gift from Adam.

Pastor Shawn Edwards did a wonderful job with the wedding ceremony at Hebron Baptist Church.
The green cake was created by Karen from The Briarwood. She always does a wonderful job with their cakes and they are tasty too!
