The Fine Art of Engagement

I love how beautiful this photo is with a little bit of added texture. It reminds me of a really beautiful magazine ad. What do you think?

Fort Mitchell Country Club

Fort Mitchell Country Club is a great place for a wedding. Their grounds and club are beautiful. In 2004 we photographed Kelly and Dave's wedding and reception there and it was a great location. We created some beautiful prints for the club to use at the upcoming BridalRama show. So if you are going to the show, stop in and check out their booth! We hope to be back there soon for another wedding. (Also, if you are going to the bridal show don't forget your address labels for all of the drawings.)

Favorite: Mexican Food

So I love Mexican food! I can eat it for days in a row. We have an awesome local place that we go to for the best Fajitas and Chimichangas (well anything on the menu there is amazing). Recently I have been trying to cook more. Cooking can be lots of fun and creative. If there was a show on Food Network about me it would be called "The Messy Chef" ha! Trying new recipes can be fun and if it fails I can always call LaRosa's. When making Ben's family recipe for enchiladas I thought about how we make it from scratch and we don't buy a seasoning packet. Since we wanted to make tacos, I decided there had to be an easy and cheap way to make our own seasoning for tacos and there is! All Recipes.com is great for finding new ideas when your taste buds need something new. So there are quite a few recipes for taco seasoning. Below is taken from a popular recipe and changed up just a bit. Enjoy. (Many of these same seasonings are used for making enchiladas too.) This is a great way to save a little bit since the cost of the packets can really add up.

Taco Seasoning
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt and pepper. Store in an airtight container. Add to meat after browning and draining the fat. Add 1/2 cup of water and let it simmer down.

Cute Tuesday: My Cats

Mona

My cats are too cute. I love how they are curious about what is going on outside as soon as you open the curtain.

Congratulations Colleen and Stephen

It is always fun to travel to a new location to photograph a wedding. In October I went to Nashville, Tennessee to photograph a wedding with my photographer friend Chuck Arlund. The reception was at the beautiful Cheekwood Museum of Art. Chuck brings such a great fashion sense to wedding photography that is fun to be a part of. The reception decor was amazing so I have to share a few photos. Colleen and Stephen were so great to work with and so much fun. I hope everybody will love seeing these photos.

Thank You

I want to say a huge thank you for all of the brides who came out to the Wendy's Show. It was so great to meet you and hear more about your wedding plans. We will be giving away our $500 gift certificate on Wednesday so be sure to answer your phone. To schedule a time to meet with us please give us a call or email. We only have a few spots open this week to meet.

Also, a big thank you to all of my former brides for helping us at the show. It means a lot to us to have you promoting us and it was great to see you again!
Our big logo in vinyl turned out great! Shelley from Single Stone Studios did a wonderful job with our custom order. She has an Etsy shop and is in Cincinnati. Check out her store and blog for some great ideas!

Weird Lens Drawings

Ok so Ben and I are camera nerds. We love our cameras and lenses and what we can produce when we use them. And yes we will talk cameras with anybody who will listen. But when we saw this lens manual we cracked up. We were selling one of our lenses that we never use (you can't use it with our full frame camera) and we saw the folded up instructions. How funny are these graphics! I am glad my lens never looked like that! That would be scary.

I love the evil sun in this one - he is out to get the lens! Is this like a oh no mr. bill lens? I guess it's a good thing we sold it.
