Brenda & Ben,
I wanted to formally thank you for all of your hard work and creativity! As a fellow photographer, I couldn't let just anyone shoot my best friend's wedding! I am so thankful they chose you! Because of you I was able to enjoy my day and not worry about shots being missed! You guys took more pictures with my camera than I did!! :) THANKS A MILLION!

My photographer friend had just received her brand new camera and lens in the mail the day before her friends wedding. So even during the reception when there was a lot of fun dancing going on she wasn't tempted to take many photos. She was able to enjoy the party! Ben even showed her a couple neat things on her camera to get her started, but he took more photos with that camera then she did.

Liz and Todd were great to work with. I met Liz on a trip with my friend to photograph a wedding in New York City last winter. She is a lot of fun and it was great to meet Todd and their two dogs. To see their wedding slide show check out the previous post about their wedding in November by clicking here.

A Special Thank You Note

Brenda and Ben,
Just wanted to say thank you again for everything! We had a great time and it wouldn't have been the same with out you guys. All the pictures are awesome! - Cara and Kevin

Cara and Kevin were so great to work with. They had a beautiful wedding in November and you have to love a bride who doesn't mind being out in the cold. They are friends with Katie and Matt, so we knew they were going to be a lot of fun. It is always so special to receive a thank you in the mail! And Cara even made this card herself (which is so flattering that she used her own photo). It really makes you stop and appreciate why we got into wedding photography in first place. We love what we do and we are so very thankful for all of our couples.

Congratulations Carol and George

Carol and George were married in the beautiful chapel at The Vineyard Church. Carol did all of the decorating and floral arrangements herself. And everything from the bows to the table arrangements were just so elegant. One of my favorite moments was after the ceremony when the couple took a moment to take communion together and they didn't see us in the corner - what a loving moment. Following the ceremony they had an intimate reception celebration at The White House Inn.

Nate and Christy, Engagement Album

Nate and Christy were so much fun to photograph downtown. It was nice to see some of their favorite spots and to find some new ones. Nate used to work downtown so he had some fun ideas. I love the photos they choose for their engagement album and it looks great. I am excited to see the reaction of their guests when they see the album at the wedding. We are looking forward to photographing their wedding this summer.

Portraits with Santa, This Weekend

This Saturday and Sunday we will be photographing kids with Santa. The town of Glendale Village will be celebrating Christmas with all kinds of festivities. We will be there both days in the train station from 12-6:00 p.m., so come say hello. I will be wearing a Christmas hat and we will see if I can get scrooge, I mean Ben, to wear one too! For more information about the event check out their website. There will be beautiful gingerbread houses on display and fun things to do all around the village. The ticket sales for the event benefit the Shriner's Burns Hospital. We will also be drawing for two free portrait sessions. See you there!

"Leaning" and While You Were Sleeping

This evening I had the chance to pick out a "chick flick" to watch with my friend. I saw one of my favorite movies, While You Were Sleeping, and knew it would be perfect because it has Christmas in it. How appropriate for the first day of December. For those of you who had your engagement sessions this year, you may remember the "leaning" pose that I usually include. It's one of my favorites because it really gets couples in close and interacting (and sometimes they forget I am there photographing them). But when I explain the pose I usually talk about this movie and most people haven't heard of it. It is one of my all time favs. So if you haven't watched this movie, take a peak this Christmas season. And for all of my couples who will have engagement sessions in the future - consider this homework hehe. http://tw.youtube.com/watch?v=0kiCJOATrms

Save the Date Magnets

Chris and Julia decided to take make their Save the Dates custom to their wedding. So I designed their magnets to match their colors and used one of their favorite engagement photos. The slightly rounded corners and smooth coating on top make it look so incredible. And the magnet is really strong. I know their guests are going to love receiving one for their fridges.

Laura and Kevin, Engagement Album

Laura and Kevin were such naturals in front of the camera. They were so great at just being a great couple and having fun. We are so glad that they decided to do an engagement album. Their guests are going to love seeing more of their engagement photos. The design turned out great. We are looking forward to their wedding in June.

Gretchen and Adam, Engagement

Gretchen and Adam are so cute together. We started by walking down the famous oak tree-lined entrance. Look familiar? It was used in the movie Rain Man. It looked gorgeous with the color of the leaves and for a backdrop it was stunning! It was great to catch up with this couple and we had fun exploring St. Anne's Convent. I can't wait to work on their custom engagement album.
