Portraits with Chris

Friday I had a great time photographing Chris for his senior photos. I have known this guy for a long time and it is hard to believe that is getting ready to go to college. He will be attending the University of Louisville after he graduates from Oldham County High School this June. Congratulations Chris!

Baseball Season Begins

Thursday I went to my first baseball game of the season. My younger brother pitched a winning game against his hometown rivals, South Oldham High School. He is a great left-handed pitcher and throws a mean change-up.

Monday is opening day for the Reds here in Cincy and I can't wait to see how our new season will shape up. I love having a major league team in town. The energy on opening day around town is so invigorating. Yeah for baseball!

Nesting

The reason why I didn't post last week is that I have been packing, moving and now "nesting" as they say. Our new home is wonderful and it will look even better once the boxes are put away. As spring is now in and the a.c. is on, I can't help but photograph what is happening outside my window. The trees are blooming and our new yard is stunning. We even have a nest in one of the trees as you can see by the photo above. Get out there and enjoy spring!

New Wedding Series Stamps

The U.S. Postal Service will be introducing two fun new wedding stamps as part of their wedding series. Yeah for love stamps! I am not sure when these will be out. Be sure to check when your local post office will have them and how many they keep in stock. The 63 cent stamp will work great with stuffed wedding invitations. After you receive your invites be sure to fold one up and put everything in and then weigh it. Also, when picking out invitations be sure to remember that some odd sizes will automatically need the higher priced stamp.

Portraits with Harper

Yesterday I had a wonderful afternoon to photograph the beautiful baby Harper. He is so precious and little. Babies are so much fun to see at this age. Working with Harper and his family was lots of fun. I can't wait to see how much he will have grown at 3 months.

Tara & Don, Engagement

Yesterday I had a chance to enjoy the sunshine with Tara and Don at their engagement session. We had a blast exploring different parts of Covington's MainStrasse Village. They are such a fun couple. I just know Don is going to have some great jokes to keep me on my toes at their wedding in May!

Deanna & Sean, Engagement

I had a great time photographing Deanna and Sean today. We had a lot of fun at Spring Grove taking some great photos. They were naturals and didn’t need much posing direction. I can’t wait for their wedding in April.

It feels like Spring!

Today the sun is out and it feels like Spring! It is actually warm outside. What a difference between the cold ice storm that we had and the great sunshine we have today.

Kristen & Shawn, Engagement

Today Kristen, Shawn and I met up at the MainStrasse Village in Covington, Kentucky. We had a great time and we tried to stay warm. After braving the cold we had a chance to have some coffee and chat. It was nice to catch up with Kristen and to find out more about Shawn. They are such a fun couple and I am excited to photograph their wedding in April.

Vote for Mammoth Cafe

One of my favorite places to relax is Mammoth Café. The colors of the décor are creative and fun and the coffee is great. Some of my great (and not so great) ideas have been dreamed up there. My friend and I went there today for our coffee break and I thought I would snap a few pictures. They are located at 515 Manmouth Street in Newport, just a few blocks from the levee. If it’s one of your favorites too, be sure to vote for them in Tank’s Colossal Coffee Contest: http://www.tankbus.org. And if you haven’t been there yet, check them out. Their breakfast is great and I love their soups. www.mammoth-cafe.com
