April Showers...
Wednesday I drove to Oldham County to visit with my family and Thursday I had some photography business in Louisville. As I drove into town there were spots of rain. After dinner with my mother we saw this eerie storm blow in at our house. But as my mother says, "you have to look for the rainbow after the storm!"

Congratulations Deanna & Sean
What a wonderful wedding that we had a chance to be a part of on Saturday. Deanna and Sean have been so great to work with and they looked awesome for their special day. The ceremony and reception were at Molloy's on the Green. The mantel and wood floors gave the ceremony a very intimate feeling. Bill Proud the officiant lead a beautiful service.
One of the best moments that day was when Deanna and Sean saw each other for the first time. Sean let out a loud "whoa!" and from that moment on I had no problem getting Sean to smile for photos! Deanna's aunt Jan, from Jan Ellers Florist, made wonderful bouquets and arrangements. And yes those are lemons in the vases - how fun. It was great to see such a variety of flowers used in the decorations. Tres Belle designed a beautiful cake. And it must have tasted great because it went fast. Thanks to Clint and Mike from C&C Music for the great entertainment. They kept the reception going with fun music.

Engagement Cards and Bookmarks
What is a Pottinger Photography engagement card? It has your favorite engagement image along with your names and date on the front of a business card and how to get to your wedding photos on the back. I custom design each card and they are printed with a glossy front and matte back. I designed these cards because so many guests were asking if the photos would be online and where to find them. Instead of handing them a Pottinger Photography card you can give them your card with your photo on the front. Our brides have become very creative with their cards. Some put it with the parting gifts for the guest, some by the signing board, others put it with candy at the tables. A few brides have put them in their thank you cards as reminders. All of our larger packages come with engagement cards. Are you looking for a neat gift for your guests? We can design a bookmark for you. Kristen and Shawn decided to have me design a bookmark with their quote from their invitations. It looks great and matches their color theme. Bookmarks and engagement cards take time to print and design (since it is all custom), please call with any questions.
Please check out just a few of our cards below!

Just Before Sunset
My favorite time to photograph is just before sunset. There is something magical when the light dances between objects. Yesterday I sat outside reading and enjoying the weather after listening to the Reds game. I grabbed my camera as the sun was dipping and I took these photos right in my little backyard.

Portraits with Chris

Friday I had a great time photographing Chris for his senior photos. I have known this guy for a long time and it is hard to believe that is getting ready to go to college. He will be attending the University of Louisville after he graduates from Oldham County High School this June. Congratulations Chris!

Baseball Season Begins

Thursday I went to my first baseball game of the season. My younger brother pitched a winning game against his hometown rivals, South Oldham High School. He is a great left-handed pitcher and throws a mean change-up.
Monday is opening day for the Reds here in Cincy and I can't wait to see how our new season will shape up. I love having a major league team in town. The energy on opening day around town is so invigorating. Yeah for baseball!
